Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Congress leader and son of late Andhra Pradesh chief minister YS Rajashekhar Reddy, is all set to go solo. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday submitted an application to the Election Commission in New Delhi for registration of a new political party. Jagan Mohan’s close associate YV Subba Reddy went to the Election Commission to register the party in Jagan’s name. Jagan Mohan Reddy had resigned from the Congress in November 2009 after he was pulled up by the party high command for airing anti-party programmes on his channel Sakshi TV.
Jagan rebelled after the Congress began opposing his Odarpu Yatra after his father’s death.
He was also unhappy with the Congress after his uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy was included in the Cabinet of the newly-appointed Kiran Kumar Reddy government.
